“We have signed a three-year contract with head coach Kim Jong-min, who led the team to the V-League title in the 2022-2023 season, until the 2025-2026 season as the highest salary in the history of the women’s division,” the organization said on Feb. 22.

Kim Jong-min was appointed in April 2016 and led the club to its first overall title in the 2017-2018 season. In 2021-2022, the team recorded a franchise-record 12-game winning streak, and in 2022-2023, the team completed the first reverse sweep in V-League history.

“We decided to re-sign Jong-min because of his achievements in achieving two V-League championships since its inception and his outstanding team management skills, which have played a major role in establishing the team as a prestigious club,” said the road construction company.

“I am grateful to the club for believing in me and making a good offer, and I will show the unique volleyball of Korea Road Corporation through various attempts with a long-term perspective,” said Kim Jong-min.

With this three-year renewal, Kim Jong-min will now have a 10-year contract (2016-2026), making him the longest tenured head coach in the women’s national team history, surpassing Lee Jung-chul’s nine years at IBK from 2010-2019.
