High school tournaments continue to heat up… Cheongryonggi middle school soccer kicks off on May 5

The heat of the Cheongryonggi high school soccer tournament continues. The 60th Cheongnyonggi National Middle School Football Tournament will open on the 5th and enter a 13-day frenzy.

Co-hosted by the Busan Ilbo and the Korea Football Association, organized by the Busan City Football Association, the Goseong-gun Football Association, and sponsored by Goseong-gun, the tournament will be held from the 5th to the 17th at Goseong-gun Sports Park 1-3-4, Hwaehwa Sports Park, and Goseong-gun General Sports Complex. Twenty-three prestigious middle school soccer teams from eight provinces across the country will participate to determine the strongest middle school soccer team.토토사이트

The 23 teams will be divided into six groups of four teams according to the brackets finalized in the group draw. The 12 first- and second-place teams in each group will advance to the main round and play a tournament to determine the final winner.

As a result of the group draw, Busanjin SC U15, Gyeongnam Masan Jungang FC U15, Gyeonggi Cantera FC U15, and Busan Haeundae FC U15 are in Group 1. Group 2 includes Busan Gangseo FC U15, Seoul Bae Jaejoong, Jeonnam Suncheon FC U15, and Ulsan Hyojeongjoong U15.

Seoul Gaewonjoong, Gyeongnam Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club U15, Gyeongnam Yeoncho FC U15, and Busan Deokcheon SC U15 will compete for a spot in the main draw in Group 3. In Group 4, Gyeongnam Jinju FC U15, Daegu Chungju FC U15, Seoul Dunchon FC U15, and Gyeongnam Changnyeong FC U15 have been assigned, and in Group 5, Daegu FC CANNON U15, Busan I-Park Football Academy U15, Jeonbuk Wanju FC U15, and Gyeongnam Goseong FC U15 will be battling it out.

In Group 6, Seoul Gwanghwijung, Busan Western SC U15, and Busan FC SAHA U15 will compete for a spot in the main draw.

The favorite to win the tournament is Dunchonjung, who won the Spring Middle School Football Tournament (Cheongnyong Group) in February this year. Treasure Island Namhae Sports Club, which reached the quarterfinals of the Ulsan National Youth Sports Competition in May, is also considered a strong contender for the title. Defending champions FC SAHA will be looking to win their second consecutive title.

The lower grade competition for players in grades 1-2, which was introduced last year, has been promoted to an official competition under the name “2023 Cheongnyonggi Secondary U14 Youth Cup” from this year, just like the high school competition. Nineteen of the 23 teams participating in the senior division will compete in the group stage, divided into four groups. The first and second place teams in each group advance to the quarterfinal tournament to compete for the title. The rules of the game are the same as the high school division, but the duration of the game is 70 minutes, with 30 minutes in each half.

All matches from the group stage to the final will be streamed live on the YouTube channel iTop21 Sports.
